Notes from our Q2 FY26 townhall: Rango

Did our Q2 townhall at the end of September instead of July. The family emergency I wrote about in August pushed it back.
Q2 in three lines
Not a great quarter. A lot of what we planned got delayed.
Revenue was nearly flat against Q1. We’re working hard on fixing that.
Our biggest bottleneck is sales. We’re working on being more visible to the right people.
Two years in
Rango turned two. Seven people, all full-time, no outside money. We marked it at our annual offsite in Goa.

All seven of us in Goa.
Something new at this townhall
Every teammate shared an appreciation for someone else on the team, or a good moment from working together. Revenue tells you how a quarter went. How people talk about each other tells you a lot about the next one.
AI adoption is at an all-time high
In our workflows and for every person on the team. Agents help draft, edit and fact-check our case studies and articles, and make changes on client and company websites. A person approves everything before it goes live.
The lesson: AI in our delivery doesn’t make us more visible on its own. That part is on us.
The insight we’re building on
It came from one of the most important pieces of client feedback we’ve had: a great designer breathes and sleeps the product they’re working on. So we’re building that discipline across the team. Most of our projects need a dedicated person. We don’t split one person across five projects, so there’s room to build that depth.
Making ourselves more visible
Useful content is the key. We’re putting what we know out in public, to be transparent and to share the knowledge we’ve earned.
Meeting people. The team attended Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai in September and Figma’s first Config India in Bengaluru in October.
Opening up our process. Our Webflow and Claude guide lays out the safety settings we turn on first, seven prompts that each end with a check, what went wrong on real sites, and a free agent guide anyone can download.
Getting found in AI search. AI assistants mostly build shortlists from other sites, then check yours. So we write pages worth checking, like our Webflow vs Framer comparison. Microsoft Copilot cited our tech conferences article 13 times in the first four days of October.
Starting conversations. Since late September, we’ve been reaching out to product teams on LinkedIn in Bengaluru, Singapore and the US.
The lesson so far: being visible isn’t the same as being visible to the right people. From October 1 to 16, that same article was our top landing page for US search visitors, and not one of them went on to our contact or service pages. So the Q3 question: are we visible to people who might hire us, or to people researching conferences?
Q3: one goal
Make it a great quarter. Two things, at the same time:
Sales: close new accounts by being visible where buyers look. Follow up every conversation from the events and LinkedIn, ask the clients who like our work for introductions, and get listed on the sites AI assistants check before they recommend anyone.
Existing clients: give every one of them 1000%. For a design-first team, that means living and breathing their product.
Thank you to the team for keeping client work moving through a hard quarter, and to our partners and clients for the trust.
We’ll share what worked, and what didn’t, in the Q3 notes.
1% in.
