What US teams should know before hiring an agency in India

On the cover: Nikola Tesla in bronze (an illustration made with AI). His inventions helped make alternating current power possible, and one of Silicon Valley’s best-known companies carries his name.
You have probably hired an agency before. The pitch was sharp, the senior people on the call understood your product, and you signed.
Then the work started and those people moved on. Updates came through an account manager. The design looked right in Figma and different in the browser. A month after launch, the site had started to drift, and nobody was quite responsible for it.
That can happen with an agency down the street or one on the other side of the world. Distance only adds a night to every round of feedback.
We are Rango, an AI-native design and engineering team in India. We build websites and web apps in Webflow, Framer and Next.js for US B2B SaaS and AI companies. We work remotely, with live overlap in your US workday, and this article is about how we keep that story from happening.
Where agency projects go wrong
The team changes after the pitch
Senior people win the project, then hand it to someone you never meet.
The people on your first call stay on your project through delivery. Everyone is full-time and in-house, mid-to-senior, and design and front-end sit in one team.
Feedback goes through a middleman
An account manager carries your feedback to the team and their answers back to you, and details get lost on the way.
You talk to the designers and engineers doing the work. They join your Slack or Microsoft Teams, you get a written update every working day, and you hear from us early if a date or the scope is at risk.
Time zones slow everything down
With no overlap, feedback you send in the evening comes back the next day.
We agree overlap hours with your workday before we start. Live calls run until 2:00 pm Eastern, 1:00 pm Central and 11:00 am Pacific (an hour earlier in US standard time), and feedback you send at the end of your day reaches us at the start of ours.

The site lists features instead of answering buyers
A homepage can follow the brief exactly and still not tell your buyer what they need to know.
We start with the questions your buyer needs answered. The Rx Assistant’s homepage had to answer five people on a pharma buying committee, each with a different question. We also write website copy for the US companies we work with.
“Great work again. You brought what was in our thoughts to live.”
Suresh Paulchamy, Co-founder and CEO, ops0 (original post)
Support ends at launch
A month later a form breaks or the CMS gets messy, and the site sits in accounts the agency controls.
Your code, designs, CMS and hosting are in accounts you own from day one. IP is assigned to you. After launch, quarterly maintenance is billed for the hours used, every hour is logged against a named task, and you can stop at the end of any quarter.
Why US teams work with Rango
Business understanding. We start with your buyer’s questions and write the copy too.
Quality. A senior engineer reviews every pull request, and every change goes to a preview first.
Transparency. Public prices and terms, daily written updates and logged hours.
Flexibility. A project, a dedicated designer or engineer, or a monthly plan with no minimum.

What are Rango’s working hours in US time?
We agree overlap hours with your US workday before work starts, and work asynchronously the rest of the time. India is 9.5 to 13.5 hours ahead of US Eastern, Central and Pacific time, depending on the zone and the season, so feedback you send at the end of your day reaches us at the start of ours.
India does not change its clocks, so the overlap moves by one hour when US clocks change.
Live calls: our booking calendar takes calls from your morning until 2:00 pm Eastern, 1:00 pm Central and 11:00 am Pacific during US daylight time, and until 1:00 pm Eastern, 12:00 pm Central and 10:00 am Pacific during US standard time.
Your 9:00 am | India, US daylight time | India, US standard time |
|---|---|---|
Eastern (New York) | 6:30 pm | 7:30 pm |
Central (Dallas, Houston) | 7:30 pm | 8:30 pm |
Pacific (San Francisco) | 9:30 pm | 10:30 pm |
Outside these times? Message us on Slack, or whichever channel we use during the engagement, and we will be available.
How a week runs:
Every working day: a written update on progress.
Every week: a live review of the work on fixed-scope projects. Staff augmentation adds daily syncs inside your working day.
Every milestone: your approval before we move on.

How do contracts, IP and payments work?
Contracts: with Rango Design and Tech Solutions, in US dollars. MSAs and NDAs follow US terms.
IP and accounts: IP is assigned to you. Your code lives in your repository from the first commit, and your designs, CMS and hosting sit in accounts you own, so you decide who has access and can remove ours at any time.
Payments: in US dollars, by ACH or wire to a US bank account, the same way you would pay a US vendor. We receive payments through Skydo, a cross-border payments platform authorised by the Reserve Bank of India, so there is no international wire on your side.
Ending an engagement: your code and accounts stay yours. Notice, outstanding payments and any handover follow your agreement, and maintenance plans can be stopped at the end of any quarter with no notice period.
On Webflow, keep the site in your own workspace: Webflow treats the workspace a site sits in as its owner.
Comparing India-based teams? Ask each one for an express, worldwide IP assignment with no time limit. Under section 19 of India’s Copyright Act, an assignment that doesn’t state its duration defaults to five years, and one that doesn’t state its territory defaults to India.
What does it cost?
Our prices are public, and each engagement model starts with a short, free trial, such as one week for staff augmentation and eight hours on the monthly plan.
Fixed scope, from $1,500. Focused projects start at $1,500, and full website builds are quoted from the scope, with weekly reviews and milestone approvals.
Staff augmentation, from $5,000 a month. A dedicated, full-time designer or front-end engineer in your team.
Monthly partnership, $45 an hour. No minimum, paid for work delivered.
Website maintenance, $600 to $3,010 a quarter. Billed for hours used, every hour logged against a named task.
Typical timelines: Framer sites take 2 to 4 weeks, Webflow and Next.js sites 4 to 6 weeks. See pricing for scope, trial terms and what each plan includes.
When is Rango not the right fit?
You need people on site in the US, or in-person workshops. We have no US office.
You need a full working day of real-time overlap with the West Coast. Your 9:00 am Pacific is already late evening in India, so live calls end by 11:00 am Pacific (10:00 am in US standard time) and we work asynchronously around them.
You need a large team in a hurry. We are a small team, and the people on your first call stay on your project through delivery.
Your budget is below our floor. Fixed-scope work starts at $1,500.
Who we are
Why the US
We focus on US B2B SaaS and AI companies, especially in the San Francisco Bay Area, Texas and New York, and we work with companies anywhere in the US.
Working on US time is not new to us. Our founder, Sagar Ludhiyani, has ten years in design and started in 2018 on night shifts in US staffing, and the team works the same way: overlap with your workday, and progress while you sleep.
What we want to be good at is supporting companies through their growth, not just their launch. US SaaS and AI companies change fast, with new products, new markets and new funding rounds, and the website has to keep up each time. LakeFusion grew from one product to three, and its site grew with it.
In the AI-native era, a small senior team can cover more of that work, faster, as long as people stay responsible for every decision. That is the team we are building.
The team
We are a small, full-time team, and we show up in person: our team was at Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, and we write about the big design and AI events, from Webflow Conf to Figma Config.

How we use AI
We call ourselves AI-native because AI is part of how we design and build every day. Veracode’s 2026 testing of more than 100 AI models found OWASP Top 10 security flaws in 45% of the code samples they generated, so senior people stay responsible for every decision:
Every AI draft is reviewed. We build with Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, design in Figma and Paper, and one of us reviews every AI draft before it ships.
Migrations are checked by hand. Claude drafts the redirect map from a crawl of your site, and an engineer checks every row before launch.
Extra pages are reviewed one by one. Once you approve the core templates, AI helps produce the remaining pages, and a person reviews each one.
We write about working this way in No middle layer and The most underrated skill in design is business.
FAQ
Does Rango work to the standard US teams expect from an agency?
That is the bar we work to, and you can check it. You talk directly to the people doing the work, a senior engineer reviews every pull request, the work lives in accounts you own, and our prices are public. Our case studies and client references let you judge the work yourself.
Can we hire Rango from New York, Dallas, Houston or San Francisco?
Yes, remotely. We work with companies anywhere in the US and focus on the San Francisco Bay Area, Texas and New York, though we have not worked with a New York client yet. Live calls run until 2:00 pm Eastern, 1:00 pm Central and 11:00 am Pacific, an hour earlier in US standard time.
Does outsourcing web development to India work?
It works when the team is senior, talks to you directly and keeps the work in your accounts. Before you hire anyone, ask who will do the work, how much live overlap you get, how the work is reviewed and what happens after launch.
Is the US stopping outsourcing to India?
No. As of October 6, 2026, US companies can still hire teams in India for web design and development. The HIRE Act (S.2976), a bill proposing a 25% excise tax on certain payments to foreign service providers, was introduced in the US Senate on October 6, 2025 and referred to the Finance Committee, and that is still its latest action. It has not become law. This is not legal advice; check the bill’s current status on congress.gov.
